A movie within a movie within a movie? That's right, it's 'Popcorn', a 90's Horror film that pays homage to vintage scare flicks of the past. College students throw their very own Horrorthon complete with giant bug animatronics, shock seats, and smelly gases to entertain the crowd at an old theater closed down years before. When the students find a old movie reel with an actual murder filmed on it things start to go downhill from there. Is the murderer in the movie back to extract revenge? Is someone playing a deadly prank on everyone? Do we sound like the back of an old Goosebumps novel!? Just find this great forgotten 90's gem and have some fun.

Countdown To Halloween!
13 Days Left Until Halloween.....is it us or are the days going by faster? Anyhow, back to our movie trailer countdown until the big day....
Today's first recommendation is from showtimes 'Masters Of Horror' series which has featured some (if not all) of the best directors horror has to offer. One of our fav's from the series is Dario Argento's 'Pelts'. Without spoiling the plot TOO MUCH, this film features a fur maker who wants to make the perfect most exquisite coat for a stripper he's obsessed with. Obviously this doesn't work out in his favor and let's just say if you're an animal lover you'll love the 'revenge' theme presented here. (You'll also be grossed out too but hey it's all good in the end!)

When A Stranger Calls Back is a sequel to the original 1979 'When A Stranger Calls', not to be confused with the shotty recent remake of the same name. This film could be considered more 'thriller' but the tried and true 'babysitter all alone' act at the beginning get's the movie off to a frightening start.

Countdown To Halloween!
A quick post today for our movie trailer countdown to Halloween...16 days left!? Hells yes! Get in creep mode with David Cronenbergs classic 'The Brood.' Often referred to as one of his masterpieces this film deals with rage and human emotions in a odd, unique, and scary manner! Psychodrama and gore go hand in hand here and you won't leave this one feeling dissatisfied.

Countdown To Halloween
We're chugging along with our countdown to Halloween, posting trailers of our favorite flicks to help you get in the haunting spirit. Get something to rent or go out and buy if you're so apt. SESSION 9. 2001. DIRECTED BY BRAD ANDERSON
Session 9 is more of a better-filmed Blair Witch style, psychological, horror flick. Filmed in a real abandoned asylum and relying on tension rather than gore, this is a great film to watch around those who get easily creeped.

Here we turn to (once again) Frankenhooker director Frank Henenlotter. How about something that involves separated Siamese twins...one who looks normal and one who is a telepathic mutant in a basket who loves to lunch on lowlifes in NY!? It's 'Basketcase' duh!.....cheapo horror comedy perfection. Enjoy!

A movie that requires a little patience as there is very little dialog but pays off with a weird atmospheric creep factor. A lonely old man, a cat, a little girl, the woods, a killer? Watch alone if you think you're a bad ass....good luck!

HELLO MARY LOU PROM NIGHT 2. 1987. Directed by Bruce Pittman.
This sequel to the original Prom Night (which starred Jamie Lee Curtis) has nothing to do with the first one but it is awesome in it's own right. Bitchy, 50's prom queen 'Mary Lou Maloney' is back from the dead and here to claim the crown which is rightfully hers. With an arsenal of hilarious one liners, big bangs, and scenes obviously ripped off from the Nightmare On Elm street series, this is 80's high camp horror at its best.

Countdown To Halloween!
Each week we like to give random movie ideas of what to rent (or buy). These can range from 'so bad it's good' flicks to 'what the hell?' to 'I used to love that!' to 'now that's just ridiculous.' Being that Halloween is just around the corner we've been getting requests for horror movie recommendations and so we've committed to bringing you trailers to some of our personal favorites. A countdown if you will until Halloween so be sure to check back daily! Maybe you'll like them maybe you won't. Today...three for the price of one.........
DEADLY FRIEND . 1986 . Directed by Wes Craven.
This old school gem isn't a masterpiece by any means but it DOES contain one of the cooler death scenes around. Watch it for the basketball decapitation scene if all else and enjoy some random spooks, a generic (but hilarious) storyline, and horrible 80's fashion. Gotta love it.
If you want an excuse to check out some ass then just get The Brotherhood by David DeCoteau. A hunky vampire frat group partakes in homo-erotic bonanzas all over campus...sweet! Invite a straight friend over and make them sexually uncomfortable...everyone wins!

Still not satisfied and want something a little more 'scary'? Try the 2003 fright film "Dead End." Referred to often as "The Twilight Zone" meets "Rosemarys Baby" meets "Christine". Sound intrigued? Turn off the lights and try it out!
